Gross Schechter Day School will present a free, community program: Ready, Set, Kindergarten on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm, featuring a panel of experts who will discuss techniques to help parents navigate the transition to kindergarten and assess kindergarten readiness. Kindergarten represents an important transition in a child’s life, from his/her educational  surroundings and daily routine to physical and emotional development. This program aims to offer families a window into what this important time will bring and to provide tools that support a child as he/she navigates the next part of his/her educational journey. Panelists will approach the topic from a variety of perspectives: educational, developmental, emotional, spiritual and logistical.

The panel, moderated by Gross Schechter Director of Early Childhood, Tracey Bortz, will include: Sandy Lasserson, speech language pathologist; Dr. Julie Hertzer, pediatrician, Advanced Pediatrics; Rabbi Hal Rudin-Luria, rabbi, B’nai Jeshurun Congregation; Susan Glaser, former director, Mandel JCC preschool and Abby Soble, Gross Schechter kindergarten teacher.

This program is geared towards parents with children ages 3-5, preschool directors and pre-k teachers. For more information and to rsvp, please visit www.grossschechter.org/ready-set.
