‘Big Spring’ event brings big fun

Cleveland Botanical Garden’s imaginative celebration of spring, Big Spring, in now open and runs through April 23.  The family-friendly event welcomes the spring season with indoor activities such as puddle bug boats, Mad Hatter tea party, mealworm races, and daily butterfly releases, along with outdoor activities in the Hershey Children's Garden.
Big Spring highlights include:
  • Indoor garden hedge maze
  • Mad Hatter’s tea party
  • Toadstool Theatre dress up
  • Critter discovery in the Learning Log
  • Mealworm races
  • Puddle bug boats
  • Oversize chess/checkers game
  • Glasshouse with butterfly releases, tortoises, chameleons, birds, and other critters
  • Outdoor activities in the Hershey Children’s Garden (weather permitting)
  • Hundreds of spring blooms including hydrangeas, hyacinths, lilies and mums
Big Spring admission includes full access to the Botanical Garden, including the Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse and outdoor grounds, and is free for members of Cleveland Botanical Garden and Holden Arboretum.  Indoor parking is available.
