Each year on Labor Day, the parking lot of Gross Schechter Day School, 27601 Fairmount Boulevard, Pepper Pike, is transformed into a dynamic fairground featuring delicious kosher foods, family-friendly attractions, festival games and activities, entertainment, vendors and more.  Since 1992, Gross Schechter Day School has hosted this tremendous community event and The 25th Annual Kosher Rib Burn-Off promises to be bigger and better than ever.  Friends of all ages are invited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this free event Monday, Sept. 4 from noon until 4 pm.

Preparation of the ribs will take place at Gross Schechter Day School the week leading up to the event with Mashgiach Rabbi Aryeh Spero overseeing the process.  The day of the Rib Burn-Off, the Kosher beef ribs will be grilled by a variety of teams as part of a friendly competition which is judged by a panel of local celebrities.  The winner will be presented the coveted Grill Master title and trophy at the conclusion of the event.  Bragging rights will also be granted to the victors!

The event, which draws over 3,000 people annually to Gross Schechter, also offers carnival-style games for all ages, an assortment of prizes, a bounce house, a video game truck, a dunk tank, cornhole, airbrushing, balloon twisting and  a climbing wall as well as other great family-friendly activities-all of which is a recipe for one of Cleveland’s most fun and festive family events.

New this year is a Pick-Your-Prize raffle.  They will have a wide variety of items ranging from local family-fun entertainment to hollywood memorabilia.  Attendees can pick the prize they want and enter as many tickets as they like to try and win!  You can get your tickets now at www.grossschecter.org/rbo.  Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20.    The winners will be notified after the Sept. 4th drawing.

Proceeds from the raffle and the RBO will allow Gross Schechter Day School to offer financial assistance to any family requiring aid, subsidize tuition to keep tuition rates low for all families, as well as pay for technology and other resources that keep the school’s curriculum at the cutting edge of education.
