Dance lives at The Fine Arts Association!

The Fine Arts Association (FAA) is an education and performance center located in Willoughby, Ohio with all the arts under one roof.  This arts oasis offers nearly 70 dance classes for ages three through adult from beginner through advanced levels.  Disciplines include ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, dance for musical theatre, hip hop, break dancing, African dance and performance troupes.

FAA’s dance program permits students to enter at any level and/or style appropriate to both ability and age.  Dance is introduced to the littlest students through creative movement and combination classes.  Young dancers are offered a variety of classes that provide a foundation of dance terminology and movements.  As dancers grow in their study, placement and alignment are refined, developing technical proficiency, style and performance qualities through performing demanding stylized choreography and complex combinations.  Many FAA dancers pursue higher education in dance at prestigious dance schools and conservatories, and perform professionally.

Whatever the reasons to study dance, The Fine Arts Association welcomes all dancers to a warm and nurturing environment with a clearly defined structure within the context of safe dance practice.  Jessica says “I would come to Fine Arts every day if I could and pick dance class over any other fun activity.”  She says she loves dance “because it makes my soul happy.”  Elizabeth says she feels that “dance makes me a better person through hard work and determination.”  Francie says “I love to dance because it allows me to be free and to be who I am.”  Abby feels it her way of creatively expressing herself.

Because FAA’s dance program has outgrown its space, a beautiful new dance studio has been added to the building.  Fine Arts welcomes you to come for a tour and try out classes.  Contact Jeannie Fleming-Gifford, director of education at 440-951-7500 x118.  For complete information on dance classes visit www.fineartsassociation.org.
