Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities invites all to a family forum

On Tuesday, December 12, Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (GCBDD) invites all individuals, their family members and community members to attend a family forum from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place in the small gym of the Metzenbaum Center, located at 8200 Cedar Road in Chesterland.

The forum will include a conversation about GCBDD’s goals and plans for 2018, as well as an opportunity to discuss the programs, services, school-age transition updates, and new rules and legislation.

“I encourage all individuals and their families to attend this important forum,” said Superintendent Don Rice. “It’s important to have your feedback as we discuss the future of GCBDD.”

The forum will include a look at the service provisions of GCBDD and the budget that was approved by the board in September 2017.

“It’s important to note, that a lot of planning and thought went into creating the 2018 Annual Plan, including data collection from GCBDD individuals and their parents/guardians, parent meetings and public presentations,” said Rice. “As we plan for the coming year, our focus will continue to remain on supporting individuals to live, learn and earn in the Geauga community.”

The forum is a free event and includes dinner. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Tami Setlock by email at [email protected] or by phone at 440.729.9406.
