Untangling the Developmental Stages of our Children

Featuring Lisa Damour

“Did you really just do that?” is a question that has found its way to the lips of most parents with teenage children. In order to better understand exactly what is happening up there, Lisa Damour, psychologist, best-selling author, monthly New York Times columnist, and frequent CBS News contributor will be giving a lecture at Mandel JDS on Monday, February 5 at 7 pm. Damour blends years of experience with the latest research developments to provide sound, practical guidance to children and adolescents, as well as their parents, teachers, and advocates. The event is free and open to the entire community. “Everyone with children in or approaching adolescence should familiarize themselves with nationally recognized parenting expert, Lisa Damour,” says Laura Simon, director of admissions at Mandel JDS. “Lisa combines insight and experience with the latest research, wit, and a rational approach in her philosophy of untangling the developmental stages of children, particularly teens. You can expect to walk away with a deeper understanding of your child and a box full of tools for parenting them.” Additionally, those in attendance will have the opportunity to tour the new wing of the middle school, showcasing its state of the art design and unique and colorful learning space. The new wing was recently completed and has been in use by students since the return from winter break. Complimentary childcare will be available at the event by RSVP only. Please contact Laura Simon at [email protected] to make arrangements.
