Dinner With A Slice of History
Presented by the International Women’s Air & Space Museum
On April 27, 2018 the International Women’s Air & Space Museum (IWASM) will host Dinner with a Slice of History featuring a special presentation by author and historian Sarah Rickman.
Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the program beginning shortly thereafter. A book signing will take place after the presentation.
The cost for this event is $15 for IWASM members and $17 for nonmembers.
The museum is located inside Burke Lakefront Airport 1501 N. Marginal Rd. Cleveland, OH 44114. Those interested in attending can RSVP by calling 216.623.1111 or online at www.iwasm.org. Seating will be limited.
Rickman is an award-winning author whose books focus on the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) and Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS). She has spent many years getting to know many of these women, documenting their stories and experiences and preserving their history for future generations.
She will present the history of these amazing women who served our country as test pilots, ferry pilots, instructors, and target-towing pilots during WWII. Copies of her books, including her new one, “BJ Erickson: WASP Pilot” will be available for purchase. Rickman is a former reporter and columnist for The Detroit News, and editor of the Centerville-Bellbrook Times. She earned her B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University and an M.A. in Creative Writing from Antioch University McGregor. Rickman also serves as an advisor for IWASM. The 2018 Dinner with a Slice of History series is made possible from the residents of Cuyahoga County through a grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
