Nature Center at Shaker Lakes will throw a free community party as a gesture of gratitude to the community for more than 50 years of engagement and support. Party in the Parklands will feature 5K, 10K races, nature hikes and a free community festival. Party in the Parklands will take place at the Nature Center. Race registration opens at 7 am and the party starts when the BottleHouse Brewery Beer Garden opens at 9:30 am. The festival, open until 4 pm, will feature local food trucks, live music, entertainment, a community cake contest, crafts, activities and more. Shaker Lakes Hike and Run -The 5 and 10K chip-timed courses run through the Shaker Parklands and the guided hikes wind through and beyond the grounds of the Nature Center. Guided hikes include a challenging 12-mile journey to the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve, a 1-mile pet-friendly family hike and varying levels in between.
