Funny Bus is bringing laughter back to the streets of Cleveland

With a challenging year behind us, it’s time to bring much-needed laughter back to the streets of Cleveland and a new company is ready to help in that effort.  Starting operations on May 14, Funny Bus is a unique entertainment experience which offers the perfect blend of comedy and history in a 90-minute bus tour of Cleveland.

The 34-passenger, open-air Funny Bus will take guests through several parts of downtown Cleveland and through the cool and hip neighborhoods surrounding the city, including Ohio City, Tremont, and the Flats.  More than a standard sight-seeing tour, the most unique aspect of Funny Bus will be the hosts who are local comedians dedicated to interacting and entertaining guests.

The comedians mix humor, music, games and dancing to provide a high-energy entertainment experience.  Guest may also bring their own beer and wine in sealed containers and small coolers are allowed, but they must fit under the seats or on a guest’s lap.

Operated by Dean and Sarah Schnurr, Funny Bus is a family business which started in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been successfully operating since 2015. “My sister told me she was going to start a comedy sight-seeing tour, I thought she was crazy; but after seeing how much the people of Charlotte embraced her business, I was easily convinced to get one rolling on the streets of Cleveland,” said Dean.

Dean and Sarah have more than 50 years combined experience in marketing, public relations, and management.  As seasoned event planners, they have a keen understanding of what is necessary to make an experience memorable and they have used those skills to ensure the Funny Bus provides top notch entertainment.

“We intend to use the Charlotte model which started modestly and grew organically to a point pre-COVID when they were offering more than 21 tours per week,” said Dean.  Funny Bus Cleveland will initially offer four tours per week – one on Friday, two on Saturday, and one on Sunday.   Tickets cost $28 and include all taxes and fees.

“Cleveland is a city on the rise and has lots to offer visitors and locals.  We want to provide a unique option for entertainment, promote local businesses, and help to make Cleveland a true destination stop for all,” said Dean.
