Be a Santa to a Senior

The “Be a Santa to a Senior” program returns to the Mentor Municipal Center for the third year.
The gift giving tree will be placed in the lobby from November 8 through December 8 to collect for seniors in need. This wonderful program is a way we can give back to our community by providing not only gifts, but much needed human contact to our senior citizens in need.

Once the tree goes up, simply pick an ornament, buy the item listed, and return it to the front desk or to the police records room.  The gift wishes included simple items such as new slippers, crossword puzzles, warm blankets, and stamps.

A gift-wrapping party will be held in the lobby of the Municipal Center on Friday, December 15 at 10:00 AM and will continue until all gifts are wrapped.   Anyone who would like to participate is welcome.

Over 1,500 gifts have been wrapped and delivered to seniors in Lake County because of this program over the past three years. Half of these gifts were donated through the Mentor Municipal Center tree.

The Mentor Municipal Center is located at 8500 Civic Center Boulevard and is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
