Lake County Fair scheduled for July 24–29

The 163rd Lake County Fair will run July 24–29 at the county fairgrounds on Mentor Avenue in Painesville Township.  This year’s event will feature all your favorite fair traditions and more.  The 2018 Fair will be packed with fun for the whole family.  Two demolition derbies, motocross racing, a truck and tractor pull, side-by-side dirt track drag racing, lawn tractor pulls, horse pulls and great music are all included in this year’s entertainment lineup.

The Fair starts on Tuesday, July 24 with free admission to all until 3 pm.  You won’t want to miss the opening day parade starting at 6 pm featuring 150 units traveling from Painesville city west on Mentor Avenue to the fairgrounds.   The grand marshal will be Ohio Fair’s Queen Morgan McCutcheon from Licking County.  Harness racing will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday with a noon post time and will feature leg #2 of the new Buckeye Stallion Series.

Wednesday is Veterans Day with free admission for all until 3 pm and with veterans admitted free all day.  Wednesday evening will feature Gutz-n-Glory lawn tractor pulls at the main grandstand.

Thursday is Kids Day with free admission for ages 18 and under and with free activities, games and prizes for ages 12 and under at the main grandstand at noon.  Ride wristbands are available for $6 on this day only. 

Friday is Seniors Day with age 60 and over free until 3 pm with a free boxed lunch while they last and other activities in the Lake County Farm Bureau Entertainment Tent. 

The weekend will feature a horse pull, the annual 4-H livestock auction, power truck and tractor pull, Faith, Family and Country Night, Latino Day and the Lake County Demo Derby…the granddaddy of all demo derbies.  Free on-grounds acts this year will include the ever-popular Jungle Terry, the First Bite Fishing Tank, Matt Hannah, the Insane Chain Saw Carver and the new and exciting aerial act and jugglers from the renowned Cincinnati Circus.  There will be free kiddie tractor pulls on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
