Goodwill opens new store and donation center in Chardon

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. has recently opened a new retail store and donation center at 425 Water Street in Chardon, part of the shopping plaza that includes Pet Supplies Plus and Marc’s.

“Goodwill is happy to open the doors to our newest retail store in Chardon,” said Goodwill president and CEO Anne Richards.  “We are excited to bring a new shopping and donating experience to this important community.”

Shoppers and donors at this new store will experience a contemporary retail atmosphere in one of the organization’s largest stores yet; more than 12,000 square feet of shopping space.
An attended donation trailer will open in the out lot of the new store in September to begin accepting donations of clothing, textiles and housewares.

Funds generated from this store and Goodwill’s 23 other locations throughout greater Cleveland and east central Ohio support a comprehensive network of community outreach programs that include job placement and training programs, family strengthening programs, emergency vouchers and more.  Last year alone, more than 14,000 people were supported by local Goodwill programming, including participants from Geauga County.
