Candy Land Has Gone To The Birds (Now through January 1)
This year, visitors will flock to northeast Ohio’s wildest holiday tradition with a new twist: The Candy Land game you remember has gone to the birds! Candy Land comes to reality in this life-sized gameboard that takes you on a fun birding adventure through an enchanting display featuring holiday decorations and colorful seasonal habitats. A souvenir keepsake key is presented to every guest.
Candy Land gone to the Birds! is free for everyone! The game is played inside the Nature Center at Penitentiary Glen Reservation. Scavenger hunts, a craft, Halle Brothers memorabilia display, and other activities are fun for the whole family! Each Saturday, enjoy an outdoor campfire with s’mores from 1 to 3 pm and animal chats. Each Sunday, meet live animals and their keepers at the Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center. Also, weather permitting, there will be free train rides on Saturday, December 7 from 1 to 3 pm.
Enjoy holiday shopping at The Nature Store with great nature- and wildlife-inspired holiday gift ideas. Snacks and beverages are also available. Snowshoe rentals, weather permitting.
Watch and listen for birds and other wildlife at the feeders in the Window on Wildlife. Visit the Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center to learn about and meet native Ohio wildlife including birds of prey. Explore more than 8.5 miles of hiking trails; open year-round or take an adventurous walk through the park on snowshoes (rentals available through the season with at least 4” of snow and as weather permits).
