Winter at Observatory Park

Geauga Park District’s Observatory Park in Montville Township is open daily 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. now through Memorial Day, and naturalists including “Astro-Nat” Chris Mentrek are eager to lead the way around your International Dark Sky Park this winter.

Guided night sky viewings on this park’s main campus are open for registration at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516 the following Fridays and Saturdays: February 11, 12, 25 and 26, and March 11, 12, 25 and 26.

Snag a free astronomy lesson these Fridays 7 to 8 p.m.: February 11 (Dark Matter Discoveries) and March 11 (Find Your Way By the Stars).

And finally, “Astro-Nat” Chris will continue to open the Robert McCullough Science Center for his famous Sky Tonight Planetarium Shows these Sundays: February 27 and March 27.  Be sure to register in advance for your 45-minute time slot!

Due to COVID-19, face coverings are again strongly recommended indoors.  Please check the website before you come out in case of changes or cancellations.

And don’t forget that our mobile-friendly website is also available 24/7 to learn more about Observatory Park, its features and its trails totaling almost four miles.  By all means, enjoy!
