Rocket Day is June 16, 2023

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum (IWASM) will host its highly popular Rocket Day event on June 16, 2023.  This year’s event celebrates the 60th anniversary of Valentina Tereshkova becoming the first woman in space, and the 40th anniversary of Sally Ride’s historic flight through a day of hands-on learning.  This event is geared toward children ages 5-12.  Learn about the history of rocketry, types of rockets, and build a variety of rockets perfect for our youngest community members.

Participants will have the option to register for one of two sessions. Session one will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  Session two will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.  Registration is required.  Adults are required to stay to accompany their children during the sessions.  In the event of inclement weather, registrants will be contacted with an alternative date, and registration will be transferred.

Early bird registration, open until June 9, is $3 per person and $4 per person from June 10 to 16.  Registration can be done via cash, check, or by visiting the IWASM website at www.iwasm.org.  Payments via credit card are subject to a service fee.
