Waterloo Arts Fest is September 9

The Waterloo Arts Fest is Collinwood’s annual summer arts bash with tons of local music, art vendors and a multitude of engaging activities for people of all ages to enjoy.  From noon to 7 pm on Saturday, September 9, the Waterloo Arts District will come alive with seven stages of local music, maker booths and food vendors up and down Waterloo Road, fine art exhibits in district galleries, and lots of hands-on creative activities for families to explore.

If you are curious about the lakeside community of Collinwood, the Waterloo Arts Fest is a great time to stop in and get to know what the neighborhood has to offer.  The festival spans the full length of the District on Waterloo Road from
E. 161 Street to Calcutta Ave. with shops, galleries and eateries open throughout.  Street performers and pop-up art workshops will keep you and the little ones entertained as you wander along.

With seven outdoor stages, you are never far from one of the 40 local bands playing the fest. For the past 20 years, Waterloo Arts has been committed to including a diverse range of musical genres in the event which attracts a great mix of visitors to this annual community celebration.

The activities are “open ended” and designed to allow kids (and adults!) the pleasure of creative exploration.  Whether they try weaving on a loom at Praxis Fiber Workshop, making a flag with the Remember Love Recovery Project, building a fort with giant colorful blocks, printing with Zygote Press, watching a blacksmith demonstration, painting murals with DayGlo colors, or any of the other many interactive art experiences, it will be hard to tear them away so arrive early and plan on staying a full-day!  For updates, schedules and more information, visit waterlooarts.org or call 216-702-3109.
