Adrenaline Monkey: An indoor adventure park for warriors of all ages

It’s time to play and move.  Adrenaline Monkey is an indoor family adventure park featuring a variety of adventures at different levels designed for all ages. Toddlers scrambling across mini ninja courses, parents or grandparents navigating the aerial ropes course, and customers at every age in between will all feel at home here.

“Adrenaline Monkey is not only for children, but for anyone willing to let their inner wild child run free on approachable adventures.  It was thoughtfully designed to be accessible and fun for all ages,” explains founder Denise Carkhuff.

“We’re here to provide a safe and exciting environment for anyone looking to keep themselves and their children active and off their screens, or just experience an adrenaline rush,” says general manager, Pam Dean.

When you first enter the park, the wee warrior area is to the right. “It’s meant for toddlers to allow them their own space to play safely,” Carkhuff explains.  There’s an obstacle course with lower and easier monkey bars and rings, soft play balance and parkour boxes and even a pint-sized climbing feature called the ‘devil steps’.  Carkhuff also shared some very exciting news. Adrenaline Monkey is building out the wee space this fall and adding an obstacle maze!

Shifting to the 5 year and older crowd, four ninja warrior-style obstacle courses, ranging from easy to harder, are a big draw.  Depending on the level, the course may contain a spider climb, overhead rings, quad steps, spin cycles, or mini zip line bag.  Two of the courses are lower body focused, which tends to be easier for most (especially the adults).

Most of the climbing walls are set up to allow participants to compete against each other, except for one glow-in-the-dark wall, which Carkhuff calls “fanciful.”  Most of the climbing walls have anchored safety ropes that allow customers to climb as high or as fast as they are comfortable.  However, one non-belayed boulder climbing wall is situated above what is, essentially, a huge air mat.  “You can fall Nestea plunge style,” Carkhuff says.  “It’s a thrill and anybody can do it.”

A nondirectional aerial ropes course with 26 obstacles floats above the ninja courses... and of course, there are warped walls at different heights to give every family member a wall that works for them.

Additionally, Adrenaline Monkey offers an arcade for the gamers in the family.  “If there’s a big party, not everybody does everything, so it’s good to have options,” Carkhuff says.  “We usually can convince the gamers to try the active adventures though.”

There is yet another exciting NEW ADVENTURE announcement… slides and two head-to-head ninja courses that start on the first floor and loop up 20 feet ending with tube slides are arriving in the fall!

Of special interest to parents, the 4,200 square foot mezzanine allows parents to work on their computers and watch their children who are attending a party from above.  The Monkey Bar, which offers food and beverages ranging from smoothies and avocado toast to cocktails, is the ideal spot for hosting birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, bachelor parties, corporate team building events, and other occasions.

Ninja warrior training classes, after-school programs, school and sports team field trips, and summer and school vacation camps are also part of the mix.

Adrenaline Monkey distinguishes itself from other family adventure parks by providing more than entertainment, and by keeping the whole family active.  As a woman-owned and managed business, Adrenaline Monkey is always entertaining with purpose, with every detail creating a truly unique experience, replacing screen time with movement, and creating lifelong memories and healthy habits that other traditional forms of family entertainment do not.
