Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity launches Playhouse Project

The Playhouse Project is a new Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity program that partners with businesses and organizations to build a playhouse for a local Lake or Geauga county family.  “Playing house” is often the first-time children start to think about what a home means to them.  Funds raised from each playhouse go towards building new houses right here in Lake and Geauga counties.

Playhouse Project offers companies, organizations, and groups a unique opportunity to engage employees in a collaborative, hands-on project that promotes teamwork, creativity, and community spirit.  This is not just a team-building exercise, but a chance to make a real difference in the lives of local families.  Participating teams will work together to design, build, and decorate playhouses that will be donated to families in our area, giving their child or children a safe and imaginative space to play and grow.

In addition to building playhouses, participants have fun, use their creativity, and will see first-hand the joy as the child receives their playhouse in the “big reveal” at the end of the day.

Companies interested in participating in Playhouse Project can find more information online at Lake-GeaugaHabitat.org.  They are also seeking volunteers interested in construction and prepping playhouse kits for team-build days.

Families interested in receiving a playhouse can visit www.Lake-GeaugaHabitat.org/playhouseproject to get an application.
