Some children thrive in a big school. Others find success in a more engaging and nurturing environment with smaller classes and more one-on-one time between teachers and students. The Ratner School in Pepper Pike is that kind of school. Using a Montessori-influenced philosophy, they educate toddlers through 8th grade. They identify each child’s unique learning style (they call it the “Learning Fingerprint”) and use it to help that child achieve his or her full potential. They offer Montessori classrooms for students 20 months to 6 years old and a Montessori-influenced primary and middle school.
There is an emphasis on hands-on materials that encourage explorative learning and inspiration. Materials are individualized at every grade level. Learning clusters of 5–12 children are typical, and many of their classrooms include children of different ages together. They work hard to create a community that celebrates respect for each other; they have a very diverse student population, and they celebrate diversity every day.
The Ratner School provides an engaging environment with smaller classes for children from 20 months through the 8th grade. Using a Montessori-based philosophy, Ratner identifies each child’s unique learning style – and celebrates diversity every day. Call Laurie Mandell at 216-464-0033 x1119 for more information.
