Celebration of Trees

Holden Forests & Gardens will host Celebration of Trees, a weekend event with family-friendly activities centered around trees and their vital role in our community.

Highlights of the event include the Great Lakes Timber Show, which stresses the importance of lumberjacks for forest and tree management through selective harvesting. The show features log rolling, axe throwing, cross cutting sawing, springboard chopping and more. Celebration of Trees also features live chainsaw carving demonstrations by award-winning chainsaw artists Pat Holbert, owner of Sugar Ridge Carving, and partner Jack Riese, as well as wood turning demos by Fruitful Woodworks. Guided tree climbing for children will be supervised by tree service professionals. Guests can also explore the Arboretum’s grounds on guided hikes.

Food and beverage concessions by Chefs for Hire, Bakers Rack and Boy Scout Troop 165 will be available for purchase.
