2019 Cleveland National Air Show
The Cleveland National Air Show will showcase a patriotic lineup of military jet demonstrations including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, F-35A Lightning II and A-10C Thunderbolt II on Labor Day Weekend (August 31, September 1 & 2) at Burke Lakefront Airport.
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbird pilots will put their six distinct red, white and blue F-16 Falcon jet fighters through a choreographed performance each day at speeds up to 500 mph and as close as three feet from each other. The demonstration features 40 maneuvers including the trademarked Thunderbird six-plane delta formation, high bomb burst and solo knife-edge pass.
The F-35A Lightning II is the U.S. Air Force’s latest fifth-generation fighter with the world’s most powerful fighter jet engine. The A-10C Thunderbolt II is the first U.S. Air Force aircraft designed for close air support of ground forces. The demonstration profile will include combat maneuvers of constant changes in airspeed, altitude, heading, and bank angle.
A World War II B-25D Mitchell Bomber “Yankee Warrior” will take Air Show fans on a sentimental journey when it takes to the skies. The B-25 has a distinctive shape with a low rumbling engine and is a living, flying embodiment of the Greatest Generation’s winning spirit.
The impressive lineup also includes the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, solo aerobatics, skytyping and more. Inside the gates, spectators will feel the heat of Shockwave Jet Truck and ground shaking pyrotechnics with a Wall of Fire. Fans can tour unique aircraft, help pack a parachute, meet a pilot and explore aviation first hand.
