5th Annual Community Carnival

Hosted by Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities

The Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (GCBDD) is hosting its fifth annual Community Carnival on March 7, 2020.  The carnival will take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.

“March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, so it is the perfect time to raise awareness about developmental disabilities, teach the importance of inclusion within every aspect of life and share the stories of individuals with a disability to show that they are just like anybody else,” said GCBDD Superintendent Don Rice. “We look forward to hosting this fun event every year, it allows us to showcase the Metzenbaum Center while also giving the community something fun to do, free of charge.”

The event will feature traditional carnival-type games like balloon break, coin toss, milk bottle knock-down and much more. There will also be a bounce house and face painting, among other activities. A free hot dog lunch is available along with carnival-style foods, such as popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy. “This event is fun for everyone, including our volunteers!” said Rice. “If you would like to help out in any way and give back to the community, please let us know.”
