Pull Back the Curtain: Hidden Lives of our Greatest Artists

Fairmount Center for the Arts announces an upcoming “Pull Back the Curtain” Speaker Series for the New Year! The upcoming speaker series will feature Art Historian Felicia Zavarella Stadelman on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 3-4pm.

Felicia Zavarella Stadelman will present on “The Hidden Lives of our Greatest Artists”- the most outrageous tales about some of our most famous artists – all the good stuff our art history books left out! Stadelman notes, “Many of the best artists lived on the edge of chaos – where all great art is born”. Ms. Stadelman shares that you will never view art the same way again after hearing this one hour lecture.

This is the fourth year of Fairmount’s “Pull Back the Curtain” Speaker Series which aims to provide a variety of interesting and insightful programs at its castle-like facility located in Novelty, just minutes from Chagrin Falls, Solon and Chardon. “Though Fairmount’s core programs are classes in dance, music, theatre, fitness and music lessons, the Speaker Series programs offer a variety of engaging topics designed to inspire and connect the community,” shared Jeannie Fleming-Gifford, Executive Director.

Felicia Zavarella Stadelman has been an artist since elementary school, and has been successful in her career as an artist and art historian ever since. Through the Eyes of the Artist began as a program for younger children at the Cleveland Museum of art, but expanded to include adult audiences all over the world! Stadelman has worked on exhibits locally and abroad, and was featured in a 2017 French documentary on the relationship between Mary Cassat and Edgar Degas.
